Golden Tongue Poem by Bookie Forever

Golden Tongue

It is the truth,
the one you trust the most
breaks you.
The lies they weave
with their golden tongue,
you believe.
Never doubting.
Never doubting.
They would break you so badly,
so cruelly,
as if you never mattered to them.
Even if you realise their lies,
you unsee them.
Not wanting to believe the naked truth
in front of you.
But a day will come
when the blindfold is removed
and you see them for who they are.
It will break you, shatter you and
leave you to pick up the pieces.
That day will know
not to trust a golden tongue.
