Gone Poem by Alexandra Elizabeth

Gone

It ripped through her like a knife.
It felt like she was choking on smoke.
She couldn't breathe,
Her heart raced so fast she thought it was the end.
The tears streamed down like rainstorms in an exotic place,
Sudden and unexpected.
Everything she had counted on was a lie, a joke.
The one she counted on most was gone.
Nothing was relevant anymore.
Whatever she had believed in had been crushed,
Her hopes and dreams burst like a firework,
Beautiful and growing,
Then out in a second.
