Gone But Not Forgotten Poem by Merl Austin

Gone But Not Forgotten

Things used to be so simple
everything had less pain
and now that he's gone
nothing is the same
There's a weight on our hearts
weighing us down now
we miss him so much
wish he never did it

For the rest of your life
you will remember these days
the days you wished you were dreams
and the dreams you wished were days
the nights you cried yourself to sleep
the mornings you wished never came
so you wouldn't have to face the day
and deal with the fact he's really gone

Always we'll remember him
never will we forget
until we meet with him again
he'll say 'hello my friend'

I lost a friend recently and I know how it feels. I just didn't want to get up in the morning and I couldn't sleep at night but you realise you have to stay strong because if you don't, everyone will fall apart too. Thanks, great poem...x
