I wish you could still be here
And stay for a while,
Not having knocked so soon
On Heaven's door.
There was so much to know,
So many things to do
And places to go.
What is life if not to live—
What is death?
Now you lie entombed by earth—
Deep, damp and darkened earth—
Such a place is not your worth!
I wish you could stay
And live.
