Gone With Smoke Poem by Venessa Glover

Gone With Smoke

'Bang Bang' the sound of gun,
smoke fulls the air
a lifeless body on the ground.
He can't be dead he can't.
I shook my head in disbelief, tears
roll down my cheeks.
'None of this is real' i said, but the
body and the bloody floor was proof
that i was worng.
I knelt down to his body and touch
is cold white skin. It's true hes gone,
he left me here alone, scared, and
crying.
