Good Bye, Without A Sound Poem by Alfred Barna

Good Bye, Without A Sound

Now, that we have closed our eyes…dream warm golden dreams
Meander, through sharp blue skies…laid beside cool whispering streams
Softly saying, but for a brief moment, just a passer by
Never morn for those things we have not done
We were just flesh and blood, hoping; just a sigh
We only had to make it, to the battle, once run
That moment was all it took, as you reached out your hand
As if to say good bye, good bye, without a sound
It has taken me much time, to suddenly understand
A heavy heart, to lay you into saddened earthen ground
This time is but a glimpse, of a brightness that cannot hide
But for now, my hand is empty, waiting to join you
For now, I gently purse my lips and arms opened so wide
Love will be the first thing; embrace, when I awake from slumber too
