Good Morning Depression - Poem by Stylin Williams II

Waking up in the morning thinking to myself "I haven't died yet? "

So instead I thank God for a new day

Everyday watching my peers becoming professional ball players

knowing that I should have been one of them

I smoke an L to numb the pain and regret

God if you take away this head high away I'll never smoke again

God if you take away this depression I'll never lose again

Instead I find out that God doesn't work that way so I continue to struggle from within

listening to sad music, as if sad music will make me heal

I don't listen to sad music to heal

Instead I listen to it to feel

Mistakenly thinking things cant get worse

Until everything hits the fan

Me and life?

We never made plans

Instead I procrastinated over and over

Even Amy Winehouse never got sober

Even the Dark Knight still had to fend off the Joker

So I guess everyone has a dark side

Everyone has some shit in their closet

Its time for me to clean up

Its time for me to get this mess under control

Today's the day I do it

Today's the day I finally kill myself

No, I'll do it tomorrow

Tomorrow's the day I finally free myself

The more I say it the less I believe myself

It's like I'll be here forever

I just wanna delete myself

Do not resuscitate, do not resuscitate

How many times do I have to repeat myself

All this time I wanted to die

I never realized I was already dead

Oh shit I have to get ready for work

I guess I'll take this gun off my head.

Someone who can write this way
    Should NEVER think of suicide
You must not of your great talent
    Others, so deprive.

    Very impressed by your writing.
As sad and pessimistic as this poem is,
    It still flows beautifully.
