Goodby Poem by P. J. Coghlan King

Goodby

A wilted un-birthday rose
haltingly...
flutters its petals
saying
goodby to me
across the room...
a common bond
between us
shatters...
as its final gesture
ceases...
in a quiver of
sadness...
for we have both
graced
the earth...our purpose
misrepresented.
