Goodbye Poem by Roman Golubev

Goodbye

Goodbye my love
You died
It’s not my fault
In the mundane of everyday
You wouldn’t tell me
That your heart was empty, -
Mine was full.

Now it keeps puzzling me
Why you were trading love for money?
Were you so desperate to find a lover
To satiate your soul?

I was delirious, as if I were a tree
Growing on rocks, so green and healthy,
Oblivious the rock was feeling hurt
Eventually, the rock has split apart; the tree has fallen.

But nature never stops.
And forest is a better place for trees to grow.
I’ll spread my branches far and wide.
A bird will come to nest,
(I hear them chirping)
And I’ll be happy once again.

I pity you - your way is hard and lonely
To chase elusive happiness,
When you depressed,
You’ll never stop.

Forest, my friend, you’ll give me strength
My brothers trees, please keep me talking
I’ll rustle my pain away.
My broken limbs will heal.
