Goodbye Poem by Rebecca Stansfield

Goodbye

Goodbye is what you said to me,
Like fish of the sea,
Guessing I'm not lonley here,
Leaving me to rot and be.

How it comes that in your goodbye,
That was a small crack of a cry,
Depending on where I heard you from,
I think I heard, you! A grown man cry..!

You didn't leave me in the dark nor light,
But somewhere seldom bright,
And hanging as a rope from tree,
In the middle of the night.
