Governmental Coffin Poem by Maniraguha Ferdinand

Governmental Coffin

Rating: 4.5

What a great day
When I am dead
When no longer need a bed
When I will be locked
Inside governmental coffin!

Children will be wailing
Together with mothers grieving
I will have been nothing, to care for their tears
Flags will be waving
Soldiers parading
To pay respect I deserve,
The man who saved the nation.

They will salute, I will not see
They will teach sermon, I will not hear
They will praise me, I will not care
Because I will not be there
But inside governmental coffin.

Though underneath earth
My deeds will cover their heart
None will ever make a laugh
To the act of generosity
While seeing my body wrapped in national flag
Seeing my history being taught in schools
And my monuments stand
In the center of the city,
I resting eternally inside governmental coffin.
