Grab It Poem by Jason Murak

Grab It

You cant just sit back, kick back, Waiting for some get back
If you want Knowledge, grab it
Dont expect it to be given to you
And dont just ask someone else either
Knowledge is something you must obtain and maintain
Not to be detained from the brain
But, to be solely explained, for your work, its exchanged
If you heard it was difficult, try it
If you heard it was good, go buy it
Its the only way to know the truth
Although hasty investments, leave you without money like 'Where the rest went? '
You gotta learn from your actions, dont rely on others sentence
People say it is blind to just jump at your ambitions
But a blind mans ambition is to see
And the wise mans ambition, is to be
Only a foolish mans ambition is to be seen
So go out and see
go out, and be you
Only by hardwork will someone see you
Dont misunderstand, Im not saying be reclusive
But being famous is quite exclusive
You might have the talent, Your efforts, though gallant,
May let you down
Just be proud of yourself, and what you have learned
Knowledge is the greatest of what can be earned
When its all said and done, Your body inside an urn
Its your knowledge that lives on, your materials, burned
'Dont chase the paper, chase the dream'
Impossible, it may seem
There will always be one star out there, and for you, it will gleam
