Grandchild Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Grandchild

You will carry on the family,
When your parents and I are gone.
You were a blessing to us all,
Like a brand new morning dawn.

Another life has joined us,
And now my child is blessed.
They can leave you to visit me,
When they need to have a rest.

It's my job to spoil you now,
As I did with them before.
My child now has a child,
And I couldn't ask for more.
