Grandpa

You kept me looking
For that shinning star
You kept me dreaming and hoping
Of that day I’ll make it far
Even though times got hard
I kept your promise close
And when I’m feeling down
I only think of you the most
I know sometimes you struggled
Everyday wasn’t easy
But you didn’t let it break you down
You kept believing
And even though, you’re gone
Your sweet love keeps me breathing
I love you more and more
Your peaceful soul keeps me reaching

You’re never far away
I’ll never forget you
I wish I had another day
To say the words I love you
I hope you forgive me
For the time I couldn’t spend
If I had it all my way
I would’ve been there till the end
Grandpa I hope you hear me
For my soul is crying to you
I wish I could’ve grown closer
But there was nothing I could do
So I can only say
I’ll never stop remembering
The times we’ve shared
For they are in my heart to stay
