Grasses Green Poem by Dan Michaelson

Grasses Green

Rating: 5.0

No memories when I felt the warmth.
No memories when I saw the sun
I feared the past and wished for morn.
I spent the time alone undone.

It wasn’t though I had today.
Back and forth my thought would go
Not before I had to pay.
With time lost, few would know.

If only I could have it back.
If only I could travel time.
The days gone by and never seen.
Bring back my youth and grasses green.

Alone again, I know so well
Remember friends I never had
The pain in me I’ll never tell.
For what would happen, if not bad.

Say to myself, that I’m OK.
It’s as if I was granite stone.
Leave me to mine and to my day.
The old like me are all alone.

If only I could have it back.
If only I could travel time.
The days gone by and never seen.
Bring back my youth and grasses green..
