Male pigeons thought she was lovely,
Yet she was a teaser!
And although she sure looked fluffy,
Yet not one could please her!
Each joined her on the rooftop there,
To gently bill and coo,
And yet each time she did not care,
'I'm off! I don't need you! '
She split the scene, to leave each one
Completely on the shelf!
Still thinking, 'Well, she's not much fun
To leave me by myself! '
But some, of course, don't take the hint,
And followed straight away,
With lustful thoughts not fit to print,
On any given day.
And once again, their necks would stoop,
To signify their love!
She led them on! Then fly the coop!
Oh, Man, she played it rough!
But then one day, she met her match,
A pigeon looking smart!
To her, he really was a catch,
And so, she lost her heart!
He had a twinkle in each eye
That she could not ignore!
Romance that she could not pass by,
For who could ask for more?
And so they did what pigeons do,
So fast, without delay!
Whenever pigeons bill and coo
And things turn out okay!

Here is a saucy, romantic poem by the Poemhunter poet Denis Martindale. The poem tells the tale of a really flighty female pigeon. She teased the male pigeons until love completely broke down all her defences! Something magical had changed her, and she worshipped the rooftop a certain male pigeon walked on. Love was in the air! Love seemed everywhere! So it's no wonder that they both had great eggs-pecked-stations!
