Great Minds Discuss Ideas; Average Minds Discuss Events; Small Minds Discuss People Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Great Minds Discuss Ideas; Average Minds Discuss Events; Small Minds Discuss People

Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people,
How succinctly has it been said, put it before,
I think, think about the quotation!
I do not want go into
Who said it and whose quotation is this?
But wonder at how finely has it been said!

Great minds discuss it ideas, what it in a world of ideas,
What sort of brain food does it give to, how do the ideas work, enlighten upon,
Average minds discuss it events, keep it doing common man talks,
About the trivial and trivia, caring about a fig, nagging and bragging,
Smelling rats, pinching and deriving pleasure,
Quibbling about petty things and petty matters,
Small minds keep busy with small things, gods of small things,
The men of small mind and heart they go about taking in a small way,
Always ready to distort and aggravate the situation
And their sole business is but to discuss people, their ways and manners,
Pitfalls and foibles, shortcomings and weaknesses
Instead of their characters and virtues and vices,
To slander others and to belittle and befool others their mentality
But instead of looking others, look to you, I say, see yourselves,
Know thyself before knowing others, how your character is, see you first
Before looking into others' characters, ask you yourselves,
Are you yourself a man of character, are you good at all?
