Green, Haikus Poem by Mark. A Heathcote

Green, Haikus

Snowdrops

lantern green threads
with diamond eyelets nod their-
whole length in rhythms
*
Church

damn chilly outside
deadly to walk on safely
moss green gravestones
*
Nature child

eyes emerald green
can colours define our moods
lush long meadow grass
*
Kingfisher

always greener on-
the other side of the fence
kingfisher delights
*
Village green

on the village green
a plaid cloth is unfolded
squabbling rooks dance

*
Daisy chains

vernal and green
my anaesthetized stress
making daisy chains
*
green tomatoes
let them ripen till the sun
feels overexposed
*
exhume the coffin
tear back all the green ivy
expose your headstone
*
here the greenery
is ever so beauteous,
stop-sign on go
*
leaping over zenith
green-tips of diamond dew
grasshopper

*
green Hellebores
don't they put on what looks like
a solemn smile
*
come away with me
to Gretna Green
fairytales dream
*
green caterpillars
convert all their energies
into windfarms

Angelica
on a host of fat-green stems
heavenly stars
