Green Screens Poem by Katherine H. Belle

Green Screens

It's a strange thing
To read
To write
To speak
Strange that a string of jumbled curves and lines
Formed together in such a way
Can portray to you
What I feel
That I can communicate to you
In words
In letters
And know that you can understand
What's going on in my head
That on some level
Our programing can match up
Like green letters
On computer screens
For aren't we just that?
Programs.
Computing
And communicating
To one another, and to ourselves
Just trying to make sense of the input
And data that we encounter
Every day.
