Grieving Poem by Serena Blackinton

Grieving

Yes I feel sad all the time now
There never seems to be reprieve
And just when I think I begin to heal
I'm given another reason to grieve
Where once was hope is now but cold
And emptiness takes the reigns once more
The tears flow steady and smile's never ready
Hope is reason, rhyme and flaw
When it all overwhelms my life
I simply lay down and close my eyes
I try to bring you into the present
But I fail to no surprise
I'm getting used to solitude
Loneliness is my only friend
And I'll sit here and quietly wait
For it all to end
