Grim Reaper Poem by Pablo Armero

Grim Reaper

Early on I met the lady
Her work was swift, her ways were shady.
She crossed my path, not being seen
She took my friend at seventeen.

As time passed on, I soon forgot
The pain she caused, I kid you not.
But from her grip, we´re never free
She struck again at twenty-three.

And in my years to come, I´ll know
Her visits, they will come and go,
She´ll take those dearest to my heart
I hope not soon, but they´ll depart.

I just wish that I'll have the time
To finish my very last rhyme,
And when my turn comes, in the end,
I'll greet her as, a dear old friend.
