Grit Poem by prabhakar bhatlekar

Grit

When was it that
I was not there?
Shadows moved rapidly,
the dark drowned all
cravings and fear.
How all departed
unnoticed as I was
lost counting scars,
those rhapsodised days
and the nights of
flying stars.
Everything cracked
but nothing held me back
Oh, there's lighted
horizon and the new road
calling for the new place
and different dreams ahead.
That's what always there
Life's stupor traps
and drags you nowhere!
You like it, detest it,
but move ahead unknowingly
with unusual grit
