Grounds Of Eden Poem by Cory Paul Mitchell

Grounds Of Eden

Wilderness surronding our estuary
Warmth from the sunshine
Welcomed sights and sounds
Are all around

look up look down you look all around
awake me now to return the sound
no percussive tones or raspy sounds
just the numb from being a clown

looking back how eyes did glimmer
the warmth within every shimmer
but now the lights a little dimmer
crawling back to where I whimper
Weeping willows do dwell upon unforgotten grounds

per each second passing I feel better
her eyes caught mine and shaped the letter
leave my life with nor regret or remorse
but I feel now it took its natural course

Wilderness surronding our estuary
Has Overgrown with our untenending time
Forgotten since our time of february
Lay my head back upon that ground
When smells were sweet
Sights were sound
And sound was welcomed
On this unforgotten ground
