Grow Up! Poem by Rowan Truebody

Grow Up!

Is this a way to behave at your age?
What are you doing? You can’t keep pace
Be sensible, grow up, sort out your life
Look at yourself, the condition you’re in

You can’t do that, you’re over the hill
And that! My God, you’re mentally ill!
That’s no way to be living your life
Be rational, be reasonable, you crazy fool

Think of the consequences
Of all the choices you make
You’re over 40
For Goodness sake!

But hang on a minute, you’re laughing out loud
You go your own way, don’t follow the crowd
No, don’t look your age, I have to admit
Your sense of fun, you’ve managed to keep

Oh, Ok, alright, I can’t hide it at all
I’m jealous because you’re having a ball!
