Guilt In Slow Motion Poem by Brandon Adamson

Guilt In Slow Motion

The people you meet can turn out to be quite neat,
if you take the time to know them.
Everyone has their own galaxy going on inside their heads.
Some galaxies are more vast and contain more stars than others,
but if you take the time to explore, you could discover
something interesting in someone you did not think would be.
From afar, it’s hard to see,
individually, human beings.
For as a group we appear clearly, unworthy.

If you take the time to get to know them, objectively,
the people you meet can turn out to be quite neat,
leaving you and I feeling guilty,
ashamed of our previous feelings.
