Gulls Poem by Bill Wright

Gulls

Caw, caw, caw,
That's all you hear,
Living by the sea,
Caw, caw, caw,
It never ends,
They come from far and near.

The noise they make is screeching,
It drives us all insane,
Those wretched gulls,
Going caw, caw, caw,
The racket just goes on and on,
It gets into your brain.

If you try to eat upon the beach,
They come in thick and fast,
Dive-bombing thieves,
Will steal it all,
Till finally we all give in,
And scurry home at last.

Caw, caw, caw,
They are off again,
This time it's getting rough,
Move house is what,
I'll have to do,
Fifty miles should be enough.

Peace at last,
No caw, caw, caw,
The silence is just bliss,
Till coo, coo, coo,
At the window says,
I have just swapped that, for this!
