Gustaq Dil (Errant Heart) Poem by Shreya Jani

'Chaliye aap chale gaye,
aur hum
khayalo ko umeed mankar peeche padh gaye
Shayad samjhney mein galti ho gayee kissisey
furkat ko fursaat mankar gale laga bathein! !

Hum jaiso ko toh fitrat sambhal legi
par unka kya jo zindagi mein bhorsa rakhte hai
un keliye toh Meri jaan
kaabhi apni beniyazi ka sabab de dena! ! '

Translation
You have gone
and I
took allusions to heart and I ran behind you
Perhaps it was my mistake in understanding
taking disappearing as a mark of leisurely comfort between us

(Errant) people like me will be saved by habit
but what of those who trust life implicitly
maybe for them my love
you may condescend to give some answers.
