Gym Users Poem by Martin Ward

Gym Users

Gym Users

Gym users,
facility abusers,
weight lifter amusers.

Treadmill runners,
dream of starting gunners,
not-there-for-funners.

Sips bottled waters,
bring your daughters,
second thoughters.

Losing weighters,
self-flagellators,
work out laters.

Best of intentions,
fat chance of retention,
cancellation costs not mentioned.

Steroid-taking posers,
tattoos of Guns and Roses,
sweat running off noses.

Taxi driver shavers,
chocolate cravers,
sights to savour.

On their I-Pads,
really is sad,
just a fad.

Young mums,
big bums,
huge tums.

Lose weight,
would be great,
but won't wait.

Not using machines,
in-betweens,
really keens.

There more than an hour,
there less than an hour,
in and out of the shower.
