Saint Teresa's Wisdom Poem by Martin Ward

Saint Teresa's Wisdom

Rating: 4.0

Saint Teresa's Wisdom
(Based on Saint Teresa of Avila's words)

If you have love,
you have great riches.
Christ is love personified.
Patience gains all things
and worry brings none.
God bears you on His wings.

Christ has no body now on earth:

You are His eyes
to see compassion.

You are His ears
to hear cries.

You are His tongue
to speak His wisdom.

To Christ's Royal Priesthood you belong.

You are His hands
to give His blessings.

You are His feet
to walk His path.

You are His body,
first and last.

If you have God,
you want for nothing.
For He alone is all you need.
Do not be afraid:
all things are passing.
In Christ the price is paid.

Excellent and so true, if we have God we have everything and nothing to fear, except our own transgressions.
