Wet, frail and folded
ready to flap from the falling twig
remembering season comes first.

Haiku - comfort cocoon. The metaphor used is change. A cocoon disssolved and dissipates it's tissues releasing enzymes. Yes recent study shows that chrysalis can remember too.
