Hail Africa Poem by Bridget Pearson

Hail Africa

Rating: 2.0

Hail Africa,
Full of race,
The lords be with you,
You are cursed among nations,
And black flesh, the fruit of your soil, is cursed.
Holy Africa,
Mother of humans,
Cry for us, killers,
Now, and at the hour
Of your death,
Amen!

This is a very degrading term to use for Africa. Africa is not cursed, it is a victim of greed and human failure. Africa is blessed with many mineral resources and beautiful people. Your ignorance about these facts are very apparent. The next time you think about writing such a poem, remove the log from your own eye, before you pick the specks from others.

You made mockery of the African continent and the Catholic prayer Hail Mary.

I can't believe such a poem is published among renowned poems about Africa. it should be banned and the writer should be jailed.
