Half Finished Poem by Richard G Berg

Something half s-
Something half he-
Something not quite ri-
Something rather abs-
Someone's been amputat-
Most of my lines!

Perhaps I've got caterpill-
Scaling my poetic vines?

Never expire…d this state bef-
It's becom….. a nuisance
It's be…..ing a bore!
It's not as if I pay half my taxes
Or pass ‘alf my wee!

I'm not one for half-mast…., no blood-
I don't rip my bank notes in two
I've not raised half-a-child
I don.. prep… half-a-stew!

Give me back my full….., in verse
I can't take gaps like this anym-
Let me live my life in fu.. as befits the law!

Well, all I can s.. is when I find the swi-
He or she will regret taking half of what's mi-

Give me back my words you tur-
This is mo.. than ju.. a crime!
It's a metaphysic.. punishm-
Ruining half my life
For more than half the bloody ti..
