Halloween Poem by Ballerina With Fins

Halloween

Silent in my pool of shame
I find my own monster
creeping up to me
merging within myself

It sings a sleepy song
in my subconscious mind
vicious, dripping tune
sinking inside of me

I go to bed a good girl
and wake up, metamorphosised

All day long, I weep
and hide myself with the mask of deceit,
my hot terrible human’s face staring
right up from within it
