Handshake Poem by MJ Khalid

Handshake

Handshake with words

Today is Sunday, i am going to Church
Today is Monday; i am going to Temple,
Today is Tuesday, I am going to Gompa, Asthupa,
Today is Wednesday; I am going to Meditation Hall,
Today is Thursday i am going to Gurudwara,
Today is Friday i am going to Mosque,
Today is Saturday i am going to library,
Six days re reserved for some one
Someone who is said to be omnipresent and almighty
Who may take away all my sorrows and fill my heart with happiness.
Someone who may protect me from dusk to dawn.
Someone who may full fill my innocent, lifetime wishes
That someone whom I have not seen ever with my naked eyes,
That some whom i cannot se ever with my naked eyes
That some who is there from centuries of time,
Kidding with me with all types of rhyme
Someone who does not get old, does not claim seniority,
Who has no competition of kingship?
Who is just one, his oneness is never challenged?
He is supposed to be creator and preserver,
His estate boundary is not yet defined,
Everything belongs to him
We are all his children, fans and followers,
So why do we quarrel with our own brothers and sisters,
So why do we conquer for land,
Gold, oil, water and currencies, at the cost of lives
Why do we do so?
Are we creator?
Preserver?
How can we perish if we cannot create?
Are we going to live forever and ever?
So why do we create hatred
Among innocent souls?
Kill unarmed human beings, cut trees, misuse water,
Today is Saturday, i am going to library
I will meet the books, turn on the pages
Handshake with words, join the chorus of thoughts
...conquer the questions which have not been replied!
Let this dear earth be a better place
Find some solution o my soul mates
