Handsome Devil Talks Poem by Sandra Dodd

Handsome Devil Talks

Rating: 5.0

The devil has
a silver tongue
and black coal eyes
bronzed hue
to his golden chest
so broadly inviting
her to listen to his
flowery dissembling words.

Quick to deliver
a ticklish feel
to the a soprano ear
Swift to refute
that he meant
to be so dear.

Cunningly devised repartee
to make his two note
serenade sound like
the average string of words.
He knows of the swelling
he causes to her head
the curling of her mental toes
with just his red shiny lips,
forked silver tongue.

He devises a plot
to make her hope
for another flick
of his silvery lust
though he wont give in
to what he makes
her mind construe.

She sees his cunning attire
dressed as a businessman,
barista, or journeyman.
She is aware
he is a fools desire.
She sees ahead
the quagmire
she’s walking into
but cannot resist
the opportunity
to get her innermost
Id stroked by a gorgeous
silver forked tongue.

The caress of her mind
she did surmise
times before
that he was not real
but only for show.
She was just glad
for just that niche
of the clock to be
worth a moment
of his time.
Her libido massaged
her feathers puffed up
feeling preened
with his satiny words
wink of his black coal eyes.

Then without notice,
or exuberant crescendo
he is silent.
She moves on
to the next one
for the devil
she enjoys
is not just one
but a legion
of forked tongues.
