Happiness Poem by Arthor Journer

Happiness

Rating: 5.0

I chased happiness through years through tears to this paradise
But when I got to it I found happiness was elsewhere
I looked back over the traveled lands that I had learned to despise
And realized that this elusive joy was all the time right there
My “if only’s” were a massive mountain I was forced to face
Frustrating my dreams my time and quaking the peace of my brow
How wonderful it would have been for the anguish to be replaced
And accept that I could have joy then and I can decide to have it now
That it was never dependant on how much I had in the bank
It did not matter how many cars or houses I owned or could sell
Was not important what was my pay grade or my rank
Made no difference who was my boss or who was my personnel
All along it was simply up to me to make a choice
That I had to decide to be happy and happiness would be there
To be content in the state that I am currently in and rejoice
For happiness is a decision you can decide to have anywhere

Yes, happiness is not anything tangible or measurable. It is just a feeling, not brought about by external factors, but aroused by internal factors. When you decide to be happy, you have happiness in your heart, and everything around you is just so adorable. But if you only chase happiness without a happy mind, you are never gonna get it.
