Happy Teacher's Day
Indeed, a day worthy for treasure
As a moment of extreme pleasure.
Listening to footsteps and expecting
Someon's visit with a bunch of flowers
To greet me with best wishes.
I waited the whole day
But in vain, none visited.
I enrolled this day with eyes full of tears
As a painful event after my retirement.
No one cared my dedication and devotion
For more than thirty years in education.
Flashbacks of nostalgic moments
Appeared in my memory - screen.
So many students visited in my residence
With sweets and bunches of flowers
Expecting blessings from me.
Although, it is impossible from my side,
Some of them, might have visited
Expecting good marks in their exam.
Anyway, for teacher like me, their respect,
A blissful and unforgettable moment.
But situation reversed after retirement
The day of joy turned abyss of pain and misery.
How selfish is our society !
How hateful is its tendency!
