Harpoon Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Harpoon

hauling reason out of a lunatic flagon
a rigid, stinging wave rips right through
roaring is the salt expanse as you strive
peeling the remnants of reserved hope
on a raft floating, at war with the currents
over to the side where all things are grey
night comes, still gripped, still speared
