Havaa-e-shauq ke rangiiN dayaar jalne lage - Poem by Munir Niazi

havaa-e-shauq ke rangiiN dayaar jalne lage
hu'ii jo shaam to jhakkaR ajiib chalne lage

(havaa-e-shauq : winds of desire; dayaar : house; dayaar : residence; jhakkaR : gale)

nasheb-e-dar kii mahek raaste sajaane lagii
faraaz-e-baam ke mahtaab dil meN dhalne lage

(nasheb-e-dar : lowness of doors; faraaz-e-baam : highness of terrace; mahtaab : moonlight)

vahaaN rahe to kisii ne bhii haNs ke baat na kii
chale vatan se to sab yaar haath malne lage

abhii hai vaqt chalo chal ke us ko dekh aayeN
na jaane shams-e-ravaaN kab lahuu ugalne lage

(shams-e-ravaaN : the Sun in movement)

"Munir" bhuul se chehre pe ashk Dhalke haiN
ke jaise la'al samm-e-rang(?) se piGhalne lage
