Have You Ever - Poem by Gordon Jerome

Have you ever had a puppy
kiss you on your nose
Or had a kitten warm and fluffy
curl up at your toe’s
Have you ever watched a movie
thru the windshield of a car
Or made a silly childish wish
upon a brightly falling star
Have you ever sipped hot cocoa
by the warmth of a fires glow
As you stared out of the window
at the cold wet falling snow
Have you ever feared catching cooties
when you were just a kid
Well don’t feel so all alone
I think back then every child did
Have you ever spent an evening
just listening to natures song
And felt in all your heart
you found the one place you belong
I’ve been kissed by many puppies
held kittens fluffy and warm
I’ve been to drive in movies
where mosquitoes love to swarm
I’ve wished upon many a star
and shared cocoa by the fire
I’ve never seen a cootie
and I have listened to nature’s choir
So I guess the one thing left
is to find the perfect place to be
And find that special someone
to share it all with me.
“closing thought”
Never give up searching and never allow yourself to quit
For somewhere in this world is your perfect match and your perfect fit
