He Is A Seafarer by: Gedahny Abordo

Covered by a serene picturesque, embedded by a calm sea
Where over the horizon, the sun sets freely
Radiating the scattering bright-hued beams
With fading blaze reflected through the thousand ripples
A gloomy broken scenery, full of endless misery
Dwelling place of loneliness and of life's reeling uncertainties
A life far from the vastness of valleys and hills
That through the sea depths, let it's great tale dwells
An anecdote that has never been told
But by the living author's life, ceaselessly unfold.
A long voyage solely witnessed by the sea
Venturing the paths of oceans and straits
Exploring swirling routes across the sea
With nought precision to reach intended ports and gates
Embracing the solemn ambiance of the sea
Calmness that no one could foresee, till when it would be?
Seeing every coast being passed by, is an infallible emblem of hope
A hope to once more, live a life out of the sea.
A life amidst the immensely void scenery
Never been jubilant, never been easy
Bearing sleepless days and nights for the call of duty
With an aim to insure the overall safety
A responsibility designed for a sailor, a mission he ought to take
Even one's life that's full of reckon is undeniably at stake
As the dawn approaches, another woeful tale begins
And the dusk slowly reveals night's luster, but it's not yet over
A sailor's journey across the ocean's expansiveness
Full of perplex battles and precarious phases
Where in the silence and loneliness of night
The solitary battle embarks, gently fills the empty heart
Worry, distress, grief and fear
Slowly envelops the soul's empty spaces
He's more than a sailor, beyond mere expectations
He battles the fear away from his beloved family
He conquers the dread of being forsaken
By someone whom he trusted to wait until he gets home
Away from truth, away from love
Away from joy, away from solace
He courageously embraces life's uncertainties
That what if one day he'll wake up and everything's strange
Far from the truths he believed
Far from the reality he assumed
Far from the plans he established
And far from the dreams he used to fancy
He's full of plans and dreams
But he's so far away, he's sailing across the sea
A grievous portion of a sailor's life story
When a loved one passed away in a sudden
Without hearing a single word of gratitude and apology
Without any grasp and embrace of an arm
Without any bid of last heartfelt goodbye
Someone he loves, someone he values, in a glimpse has gone
While he's too far way, yes he's too far away.
When the sea's serenity turns into tempest
As the rigorous waves clouted the ship
Leading it to frightful tremors and quivering
Kneeling down with pure tears, and imploring above
To give him a safe and sound fate
He's family, he's love, patiently and earnestly wait for his return.
God may let him reign, may let him live
Trusting God more than words, he's sole refuge
His silent battles are kept hidden in the deepest part of the sea.
As it witnessed how he fought with valor
How he hoped with faith
How he turned fear to courage
How he sailed for the future.
And how he wrote his own fate
This is who he is,
This is his life
Because he is a Seafarer.
