Healthy exercise, not gimmickry

We celebrate a heart day every year
By running a mile in top gear
Young men and women partake in the run
A few perverse guys pooh-pooh this fun

We organize a long walk on world diabetes day
Is it a gimmick or an antic, none can say
The real value of this exercise is to educate
To create awareness and not to pontificate

For every ill, observe a day or week
The motive for this thinking is not far to seek
Human frailties like gluttony and sloth
Erode your mind like the moth your cloth

Walkers and joggers! May your tribe increase!
With a healthy lifestyle may you live in peace
May the gimmicks and antics cease
To lead an active life free from disease
