Reminiscences 1975 to 1980
Rags to riches story
Walking up the lane leading to our home
Lends a feeling of nostalgia
A twin ultra modern building stands
Where our hired little house stood
Reminiscences linger in my mind's flight
The wings of my mind have lost their might
The mind's eye has become dimmed in sight
Ignorant of what is wrong and what is right
With two little boys four and seven
And a young loving wife, I was in heaven
In our little rented house on hire
With no phone, water or gas to light the fire
Playing horseback on my knee
Sent beams of delight coursing through me
A bath, a shower and an affectionate kiss
Sent soothing rays of eternal bliss
Where are those pleasant memories gone?
Buried or burnt in the archives of time
All sane emotions are blunted and worn
And lying in wait for a sunlit morn
Playing horseback on my knee Sent beams of delight coursing through me A bath, a shower and an affectionate kiss Sent soothing rays of eternal bliss..with no phone, gas, light and all the so called comforts...... lovely poem praising simplicity and love. tony

Well expressed thoughts and feelings in verse with rhythmic splendour. A beautiful piece of poetry, very heartfelt with strong emotions.
