The News of the Universe continues to be good news encouraging more creatures who lived guarded lives to come into the open and mingle with each other. And then - if I'm visualizing this scene correctly - they seem to ascend to a higher plane. Is that why there are plaintive farewells? That is the only note of sadness in this poem, and it is very muted. If your recent poems are visions of a suddenly transformed world, I want to celebrate the hope they embody. It's almost as if the poet's futile hope in the RUBAIYAT has impossibly become real (!) , namely - AH, LOVE! COULD THOU AND I WITH FATE CONSPIRE... WOULD WE NOT... REMOULD IT NEARER TO THE HEART'S DESIRE! Is this overstating your theme - or not?
