Hearken Poem by somebody else

Hearken

Jesus is our Lord, but we treat him not that way,
following not his example, or his commandments obey.
And though His name, do so many despise,
He ceases not, in trying to open their eyes.
Because His love for us, is so very great,
that sacrificed did He, to save us from a tormented fate.
For with his death, opened He the gates of Heaven for all,
to whosoever will answer, and hearken to His call.
Indeed for our sins has He paid, for he loved us much,
and will still grant forgiveness, and his healing touch.
And all one has to do, is ask,
which is far from too hard a task.
For His word truly does set one free,
granting paradise, to all that will see.
