Heart-Felt Reminiscences Poem by Dr John Celes

Heart-Felt Reminiscences

For all the love I poured out from my heart,
For all the affection I bore for all,
For all the loving thoughts and care I gave,
I wonder whether anyone deserved!

But that's the reality of most things,
And that's the way, the world goes on, it seems;
Ingratitude and disobedience
Are what the world returns for slogging hard.

But can I change my ways of doing things?
And should I change my personality true?
I have been living with good principles;
I cannot change for worse akin the world!

Most people seem mechanical, inert;
The world cares not for neighbors or strangers;
Each one is treading paths of selfishness;
Even God appears unwanted in one's life!

The way things are is most unfortunate;
Corruption rules the minds and hearts of men;
All sense of values has been forgotten;
One living God is replaced by idols!

While nations feel they can exist on own,
Most leaders run governments crazily;
The world's beset with chaos and frenzy;
Yet, upright souls must walk the righteous path.

Beware of wrath of God, dear fellowmen!
You hate your neighbor even in the womb;
Remember dust was from we all were made;
Our earthly feats are naught if hate fills hearts.
