Heart Thief Poem by Hanna Maulseed

Heart Thief

Rating: 1.0

Heart Thief

O pardons me! Where are you going?

My heart is in your hands

seem as if you want to place it on a stand,

I know you always had a plan.
Thou heart thief why'd you have to be so brief

In spite of my pain and grief

You stood like an altered beast

at the foot of the praying priest

asking for relieve of your lies and self-loving deeds

devoted with my body and soul I

plead to you for mercy, my heart so pure and true

has left me helpless and blue.

You steal my heart, which was once yours.

I had loved you to the depth, breadth and height

yet you break crush and crumble
The eternal love I had for you.

Heaven forbid this can't be right, I yearned-for thee

And dream of thee, I love thee then

But now I'll be your friend.

You spread your wings over the spurious sky

and soar, then steal the stars from Heaven

You are so darned brave.

They should name you Dave

return my heart to me,

You heart thief.
