Heartless Wind Poem by Carole Mudge

Heartless Wind

Oh! guess what
the wind has dropped
Oh! my dear
no its not
roaring mad
whistling sad
never ending
always rending
cries and moans
creaks and groans
creeping in to
minds and bones
will this madness
never end
will broken hearts
never mend
could this be
the roaring forties
breaking hearts
with all its naughties
how we wish
for peace and calm
miles away from
all this harm
rest ye wind
and take a break
gather force
another day
one when I am
miles away.
