Heaven Next To Hell Poem by O Anna Niemus

Heaven Next To Hell

By the slaughterhouse, full of the screams of
terror, the blood, urination from terror,
defecation from agony, grease, mud
and slime
were orchards... of orange and grapefruit
lemon and lime.

Hell on the fringes of heaven.

Very powerful, thought provoking words.... a sad image, but maybe with some hope? A true poem can be read in many different ways (like a bible verse) ... well done.

What truth these words speak. A simple, subtle, and beautiful way of acknowledging society's faults.
