Heaven's Love Story Poem by calyn ogbang

Heaven's Love Story

Under skies of screaming sunshine
Beside an alter of solemn promise
Gliding like fire on spirited waters
As poise as the roses of summertime
I gazed upon her vixen prowess
Dazed by her sizzling camaraderie
I relied on my relishing thoughts
Frames of cumbered could be's

Awoken by tolls of matrimonial chime
The reality of my hollow personality
I search for courage in my jean pockets
Instead I find sweaty shaking palms
As she walks by her scent imprints on me
I see all I ever desired inside a blue dress
Her hair flows free like the goddess Athena
Am in love with the idea of her perfect
I search her path the trail to heaven maybe

I discover she is rooted with family loyalty
Am scared the entanglements of bonds
Passion and dedication rendezvous at heart
I succumb to my dedicated emotions
I refuse the pledge my eyes made to my heart
No absolution for a man with no soul
As I bleed from cupid baby diapers
The sisters of fate show compassion
A man and a goddess write a love story
